Porsche Electric Hypercar: Everything We Know
Porsche is committed to electrifying its entire lineup, with the Taycan already on the market and the upcoming Macan EV and electric 718 and Cayenne on the horizon. However, the most exciting prospect is a new hypercar that could top Porsche’s electric portfolio.
The Mission X concept, unveiled in 2023, hints at what this future hypercar could be like. Inspired by iconic models like the 918 Spyder and Carrera GT, the Mission X showcases Porsche’s track success and design expertise.
The production version is expected to mirror the concept with unique features like Le Mans prototype race car-inspired design elements and a luxurious cabin with F1-inspired details. A rendering previews an aerodynamic-friendly version of the Porsche Mission X in a striking paint-to-sample Smyrna Green color.
Under the hood, the Mission X concept boasts a mid-motor layout with a unique “e-core” battery configuration aimed at replicating mid-engine car performance dynamics. The powertrain is anticipated to deliver around 1,700 horsepower and feature three electric motors and all-wheel drive.
With such impressive specs, the Porsche EV hypercar is likely to accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 2.0 seconds and target setting new lap time records at tracks like the Nurburgring. Pricing is expected to surpass six figures, making it one of the most expensive cars from Porsche.
Limited production is anticipated, following Porsche’s tradition of exclusive hypercar releases, with only 918 units of the 918 Spyder produced. While an exact release date has not been confirmed, Porsche is looking to bring the hypercar to market following positive feedback on the Mission X concept.
