Ferrari will present its first electric car by the end of 2025. Information about him is scarce at the moment, and will likely remain so until his debut. Meanwhile, the Italian automaker has made new and somewhat vague promises to its customers about what they should expect from the new electric vehicle.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna reported Autocar, that prototypes of electric cars have already passed “several thousand kilometers” of tests and assured that “when we make electric cars, we will make them right.” He called the car's test drivers his “first customers” who have driven many cars and can easily compare an EV to others. According to Vigna, people don't buy Ferraris for anything in particular – they buy them to have fun.
Part of this entertainment will be the signature sound, a key attribute of Ferrari, which will change radically with its first electric car. Earlier this year, Vigna noted that Ferrari's electric cars will have unique “sound signatures.”
Vigna also added that customer demand will determine which power units will be installed on their supercars – diesel, hybrid or electric.
The head of the company also did not confirm the latest reports that the brand's first electric car will cost $500,000, calling the price of the novelty a “surprise.” It is known that the electric car from Ferrari will officially go on sale in 2026.
