MG has announced the price of its electric roadster, which it recently unveiled in Beijing. The base model received a price tag of $68,800, and therefore is a competitor to the Porsche 718 Boxster and the BMW Z4 M40i.
In terms of performance, this new product from MG is not inferior to its competitors. In the basic version, the Cyberster has rear-wheel drive and a power of 335 hp. and 475 Nm of torque. The model has dynamics of 5.0 seconds to 100 km/h and a range of 500 km.
For comparison, for the same amount, the buyer can get a basic Porsche 718 Boxster, which has a power of 300 “horses” and accelerates to the first hundred in 5.1 seconds, or a 340-horsepower BMW Z4 M40i, which reaches 100 km/h in 4 .5 seconds.
The Cyberster GT configuration has all-wheel drive, a power of 502 hp. and 725 Nm of torque and a shorter range of 445 km. However, this version has an acceleration of 3.2 seconds and a price of 75,000 dollars.
For an extra $7,000 over the base version, this proposition looks much more attractive on paper. However, such a price could also make the model a direct competitor to the upcoming electric Porsche 718, provided the German automaker presents the model.
