Electric pickup Tesla Cybertruck entered global markets about five months ago, but until today the model was missing some key features that you would expect from a modern pickup truck. That's about to change with a software update that enables the electric pickup's differential locks and other off-road-focused features.
Options are available in the new Off-Road mode, which improves handling on rocks, gravel, deep snow and sand. Locking differentials are available on the twin-engine, all-wheel-drive model.
The tri-motor pickup has a locking front center differential, while the virtual rear self-locking differential is always engaged in Overland mode.
In addition, the new Trail Assist function simplifies handling on uneven surfaces at low speed. The new Baja mode improves the vehicle's balance and handling when the driver sets the stabilization system to its minimum value.
With the update, the Cybertruck is also reported to handle slippery surfaces better, and the new CyberTent Mode flattens the suspension so you can sleep on a flat surface.
