Another Chinese car manufacturer is making its way into the European car market. This time we are talking about Dongfeng. The company decided to start with the heavy artillery and prepared the MHero 1 electric SUV for European buyers.
The first market for the novelty will be Switzerland, and Germany and other European countries will probably join soon.
The MHero 1 aims to conquer the European market with its military-style design and impressive performance figures. The aggressive appearance is combined with the Smart Off-road architecture, which has a fully pivoting chassis and allows for fording up to 90 cm. The MHero 1 also offers a ground clearance of 335 mm.
The car is driven by a power plant consisting of four electric motors with a total capacity of 1088 hp. and a torque of 1400 Nm. A heavy electric car can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.
The electric motors of the Chinese SUV are powered by a battery with a capacity of 142.7 kWh, which provides a range of up to 450 km. Dongfeng also produces a three-motor version of the MHero 1, which is assisted by an internal combustion engine, but it is not yet clear whether this model will be offered in Europe.
It is known that in Switzerland, prices for an electric SUV start at 150,000 euros. Pricing and launch dates for other European markets remain under wraps, though the company has confirmed that sales in Germany will begin this summer.
