2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 Gets 440 Miles Of Range, Higher Towing Capacity, Lower Price
The 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, the top-of-the-line model for GMC’s latest electric truck, has received upgrades in both range and towing capacity. GMC now estimates that the Sierra EV can travel up to 440 miles on a full charge, an increase of 40 miles, and can tow up to 10,000 pounds, an increase of 500 pounds. The maximum payload capacity has also been raised by 150 pounds to a total of 1,450 pounds for the Denali Edition 1.
Additionally, the price of the fully loaded Sierra EV has been reduced by $9,200, with the final MSRP now set at $99,495 including the destination charge. These upgrades mirror those made to the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST trim, which received a range boost and a price reduction of $10,000. Both electric pickups from GM are scheduled for delivery this summer.
The GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 remains a luxury-oriented vehicle with features like four-wheel steering and the CrabWalk feature, which allows the truck to move diagonally at low speeds. The truck is equipped with a pair of electric motors that produce 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque in Max Power mode.
Regarding charging, the Sierra EV is expected to use the same 800-volt, 24-module battery pack as the GMC Hummer EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV. It can accept up to 350 kW from a fast charger, adding approximately 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. The truck also features a 19.2 kW onboard AC charger and the ability to export 10.2 kW of power through multiple outlets on the pickup.
Standard features on the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 include the MultiPro Midgate, air suspension, and the option for GM’s hands-free advanced driver assistance system, Super Cruise. With its upgrades and new capabilities, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 continues to be a top contender in the electric truck market.
