This Is How Fast Tesla Cybertruck Charges From Flat To Full
The Cybertruck, Tesla’s first 800-volt model, boasts the highest charging power of all Tesla vehicles. While Tesla officially states that it can only charge at up to 250 kW, the Cybertruck can exceed 300 kW if connected to a third-party charger delivering 800 volts or more. This capability is likely downplayed by Tesla because its Superchargers, including the latest V4 model, cannot deliver more than 250 kW.
In a charging test conducted by Tom Moloughney for his channel State of Charge, the dual-motor Cybertruck started out at almost 250 kW but quickly tapered off as the battery charged. By the time it reached 15% charge, the power had dropped to 220 kW, further decreasing to 125 kW at 50% charge and around 70 kW at 90% charge. The full charging session lasted about an hour and a half, replenishing 122 kWh of energy.
Despite some Cybertruck owners reporting that it can maintain around 250 kW until 30% charge, the charging curve from Tom’s session showed a drop to 220 kW at the 15% mark. While the Cybertruck may not charge as fast as expected, improvements to Tesla’s Superchargers and updates to the Cybertruck itself should lead to quicker charging speeds in the future.
