The American startup Alpha Motor presented a retroversion of its Wolf electric pickup, the history of which began back in 2021. Three years before the series, it never made it, like other models of the brand. All previously presented concepts – Ace coupe, “off-road” Jax coupe, Wolf pickup, sedan and wagon Saga – exist only in the virtual world.
They are now joined by entry-level Wolf. Externally, it closely resembles Japanese pickup trucks of the late 1970s and early 1980s, such as the 1980 Toyota Hilux. A particularly striking reference to the retro era is the 31-inch tires with white sidewalls.
The interior is maximally simplified. All devices are analog. The only modern element is the display of the infotainment system.
As the company says, since the first presentation, engineers have modified the pickup's skateboard platform. This made it possible to place a larger battery. Expected range – 563 km.
It is interesting that the startup refused the “Tesla” charging port, which has been actively switched to by almost all automakers recently. The pickup is equipped with a CCS port and supports fast DC charging. According to Alpha, depending on the capacity, the battery is replenished by 80% in 30-60 minutes.
The release date of serial Alpha Wolf is not specified. If it does go into production, the price tag could start at $36,000. In total, the startup has already shown seven potential models and hopes to bring them to market one day.
