Will Kymco’s EV-Motos Finally Become A Reality Thanks to LiveWire?
The world of electric motorcycles is seeing some of the greatest innovations from unexpected sources. While the Japanese big four have shown interest in electrification, brands like Kymco are taking a more daring approach. Kymco, once known for scooters, has been investing heavily in new electric platforms, such as an upcoming electric motorcycle based on the LiveWire S2.
Kymco holds a stake in LiveWire, with plans to collaborate and leverage each other’s expertise. The upcoming LiveWire S3 models are expected to be scaled-down versions of the S2 models, targeting the entry-level market. Additionally, Kymco’s delayed RevoNEX and SuperNEX electric models may finally come to fruition through this partnership.
The new platform showcased in design drawings hints at what the production RevoNEX and SuperNEX bikes might look like. With an impressive power output of 63 kW and 263 Nm of torque, these electric models are set to make an impact. The S3 range, based on the Arrow platform, is likely to offer a smaller and more accessible alternative to the S2 series.
The potential for a lightweight and affordable electric motorcycle from LiveWire and Kymco is exciting, showcasing the future of technology in the industry. While some may snub electric motorcycles, the advancements in this field are undeniable. Would you consider riding this new electric motorcycle?
