The new Ford Explorer has entered production in Germany and is entering the European market. For the first time, the crossover became electric. His details have been revealed on the official Ford website.
The Ford Explorer electric car was supposed to be sold in the European Union in November, but due to the certification of the battery and the refinement of the power plant, the market entry was delayed.
In the EU, the Ford crossover costs from 48,510 euros, but more affordable versions should be added later. It is already known that this year the new model will appear in Ukraine.
New Ford Explorer 2024 has nothing to do with the gasoline model of the same name and will be produced in parallel with it. The electric car reaches 4.46 m in length with a wheelbase of 2.77 m and is built on the VW MEB platform, that is, it is a sibling of the Volkswagen ID.4.
VW ID.4 also borrowed power plants. So far, the Ford Explorer electric crossover will be offered in rear-wheel drive 286-horsepower and all-wheel drive 340-horsepower versions with an 82 kWh battery. In the first case, the range will be 555-602 km, in the second – 516-566 km. The top variant starts up to a hundred in 5.3 seconds.
The basic configuration of Ford Explorer includes dual-zone climate control, camera, adaptive cruise control, navigation, heated seats and steering wheel, electric drive and ventilation of the driver's seat, wireless phone charging.
The Premium variant (from 52,136 euros) adds a panoramic roof, electric tailgate, matrix headlights, 20-inch wheels and powerful Bang&Olufsen acoustics with 10 speakers.
