Subaru Solterra U.S. Sales Tripled To A New Record In May 2024
In May, Subaru sold 58,356 cars in the United States, which was a 7.0% increase compared to last year. The year-to-date sales volume reached 267,215, showing a 7.3% growth year-over-year. This marks the 22nd consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth for Subaru.
Subaru saw a significant increase in all-electric car sales, particularly with the Subaru EV sales tripling to 1,546 units last month, up 255% from the previous year. The brand’s total volume share of Subaru EV sales in May improved to a record 2.65%.
The positive sales results can be attributed to improvements made to the 2024 model year of the Solterra model and attractive lease deals offered at $329 per month over 36 months with $369 due at signing earlier this year.
Year-to-date, Subaru has sold 4,149 units of the Solterra model in the U.S., marking a 73% increase compared to last year. This accounts for 1.6% of the brand’s total sales volume. The cumulative Solterra sales since its launch are close to 14,000 units.
The Subaru Solterra model, based on the Toyota e-TNGA platform, has cousins in the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ models, with sales results reported quarterly and relatively similar.
The pricing for the 2024 Subaru Solterra models varies based on trim level, with the base price ranging from $44,995 to $51,995, excluding destination charges and tax credits.
Overall, the Subaru Solterra is experiencing strong sales momentum and is expected to surpass its 2023 sales performance based on current trends.
