Chery has officially unveiled images of its new Exeed E08, which is most likely an all-electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). It is expected to be shown for the first time at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show next week and will be part of the Exlantix series.
The Exeed E08 was the first car developed jointly by Exeed's European and Shanghai design teams.
It is based on the Exeed Wind Aesthetics 2.0 design language. Despite the classic monoblock design, the E08 has one of the best aerodynamics and includes elements that reduce air resistance, such as cameras instead of side mirrors.
The front part of the E08 is made in the “cyber butterfly” style, characteristic of the brand's family of designs. The grille decor is inspired by chandeliers, and the headlight clusters are shaped like the letter “F”.
On the side, the Exeed E08 has a straight line of windows, and the body of the car itself is relatively flat, apart from a few crease lines. The rear doors are very wide and when opened provide direct access to both the second and third row of seats.
The rear is decorated with boomerang-shaped light clusters, as well as additional lighting around most of the rear glass.
Judging by the design, the E08 is meant to compete with MPVs like the Li Mega and XPeng X9, although it is expected to be priced lower. The E08 is expected to join the ES and ET models in the Exlantix lineup, which is known as the Sterra in China. This model will likely be based on Chery's advanced E0X all-electric platform.
Prices, according to preliminary data, will start at 250,000 yuan ($34,500), and deliveries will start no earlier than the beginning of next year.
