The GMC Sierra Denali EV debuted back in October 2022, and according to the original press release, it had an MSRP of $108,695. The price was for the top-of-the-line Edition 1, which is equipped with a pair of electric motors with a capacity of 754 horsepower and a range of 644 km. It was supposed to go on sale in early 2024, but since then everything has changed.
Today, prices for the American pickup in Edition 1 start at $99,495. A GMC representative explained that the original six-figure price was actually just an estimate that has now been revised downwards for the production car.
GMC also promises more options for the Sierra EV. Estimated driving range for the Edition 1 trim is almost 710 km, which is a 10 percent increase compared to the old figure. It is worth noting that the range is a General Motors estimate. The Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 can be quickly charged at charging stations with a capacity of up to 350 kW.
The only bad news is the delivery time of previously ordered Sierra EVs. Instead of starting in 2024, customers will only start receiving their Edition 1 pickups in the summer. This year's entire edition of the car is already sold out, but GMC does not say exactly how many units of the limited edition Edition 1 were made. Pricing and availability for other Sierra EV trims will be announced at a later date.
