Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car received a new powerful modification of the eN1 Cup. It will be presented on April 27 at the Hyundai N festival in South Korea. It is reported on the official website of the automaker.
The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup is a racing version of an electric car. It will compete in the eN1 class, which appeared this year.
It was based on the fastest Hyundai Ioniq 5 N with a two-motor installation of 650 hp. and a battery with a capacity of 84 kWh. It has retained electronic systems that simulate the sound of a gasoline engine and the operation of a gearbox.
Adjustable shock absorbers and improved brakes with six-piston calipers in the front and four-piston calipers in the rear appeared.
The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup received an aggressive body kit and a huge rear wing. Its body was lowered and the fenders widened to accommodate 18-inch forged wheels with racing tires.
A safety cage and a racing steering wheel were installed inside. Also, the Hyundai electric car has been lightened by 270 kg (up to 1967 kg), taking away some of the interior decoration and passenger seats, and therefore it will be faster than the standard Ioniq 5 N, which starts up to a hundred in 3.4 seconds.
