Just a few weeks after previously announcing the launch of its fourth electric model and promising impressive performance, Chinese company IM Motors has officially opened pre-orders for the new L6 sedan.
The automaker has confirmed that the L6 will be powered by semi-solid batteries, have a range of over 1,000 km and an intelligent driving chassis.
At the end of March, the CEO of IM Motors confirmed that the new L6 will be one of the first cars on the Chinese market to run on real solid-state batteries.
The novelty is available to Chinese buyers in three configurations. The base version of the L6 Max Standard Edition costs from $31,800, the IM L6 Max Performance Edition costs about $41,475, and the flagship version of the L6 Max Lightyear Edition is estimated at $45,650.
The company notes that only the Max Lightyear Edition model is equipped with a semi-solid battery with a capacity of 130 kWh, which provides ultra-fast charging and a range of more than 1,000 km. More affordable versions are equipped with “normal” batteries for 90 and 100 kWh.
It is known that the car is equipped with LiDAR, which supports the third level of autonomy. Beta testing of the corresponding software will begin already this quarter, and its serial implementation is planned for the fourth quarter of 2024.
