The electric crossover has retained the familiar design of the company's other models. In general, there were no surprises in the design – it is actually a reduced version electric SUV Rivian R1S. However, the novelty will become a more convenient and suitable offer for young buyers.
The Rivian R2 electric car is the automaker's firstborn in the relatively compact segment. The novelty will turn out to be even faster than Tesla – it will accelerate to 100 km/h faster in three seconds in the top all-wheel drive version with three motors. A two-motor variant will also appear, and the basic model will be one with one electric motor and rear-wheel drive.
Rivian R2 range promises at least 480 km for all modifications. Together with this model, the company will enter the European market. At the moment, Rivian electric cars are sold in the USA and Canada.
The price of the Rivian R2 is $45,000, which is in line with the price of its main competitor, the Tesla Model Y. In addition, buyers (at least in the US) will be entitled to a $7,500 tax rebate, which will make the new product even more attractive.
