Two years after the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV was first announced, retail buyers finally have the chance to order the full-size electric pickup before this summer.
The first version available will be the Silverado EV First-Edition RST, priced at $96,495. The price is steep, but about $9,000 less than what was announced at debut.
Pre-orders will have first priority, and as a bonus for keeping their orders, Chevrolet will offer a 19.2kW bi-directional GM Energy Powershift Charger at no extra charge.
The Silverado EV First-Edition RST is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 205 kWh, which will provide a range of up to 710 km. The car is also equipped with a two-motor power plant that produces a total of 754 hp. in Wide Open Watts mode.
Standard equipment includes air suspension, a steering rear axle, 24-inch wheels, a glass roof, the Super Cruise highway driver assistance system, a projection display and a flexible mid-gate that increases the length of the cargo.
The Silverado EV First-Edition RST is the flagship of the lineup. More affordable versions of the Silverado EV for retail buyers will be launched at a later date. Production takes place at General Motors Factory Zero near Detroit, which also makes the GMC Hummer EV. Production expansion is planned for 2025 at the GM plant in Orion Township, Michigan.
