GMC Hummer EV electric car was the first General Motors passenger car on the Ultium chassis. The automaker has done everything possible for the model, filling it with incredible power and advanced features. Sales of the electric Hummer were up a whopping 83,330 percent in the first quarter of this year, but that number needs some context.
It is worth noting that during the first three months of 2023, the company sold only two Hummers, as it was still adjusting the production of electric SUVs. During the same period of 2024, 1,668 Hammers were sold. This is what explains such a record percentage increase.
Today, GMC offers the Hummer EV in two body styles – a pickup truck and an SUV – both starting at a staggering $98,845. A pair of electric motors provides a combined output of 570 horsepower, while a three-motor configuration delivers up to 1,000 hp. Prices for this modification start at $106,945.
The car is powered by a huge 246 kWh battery. GM's lineup of Ultium-powered vehicles also begins to grow as sales begin. At Cadillac, Lyriq sales increased by 499 percent – from 968 to 5,800 units. In the first three months of the year, Chevrolet sold 600 Blazer electric cars and 1,061 Silverado electric cars.
