The Czech automaker shared details about the future “charged” electric car. The Skoda MotorSport division is developing the racing version.
It is reported that the high-performance version should have motorsport DNA in a production car. The car will be distinguished by an extended chassis and low ground clearance.
For reasons of aerodynamic efficiency, the model will be equipped with anti-wings, a diffuser and new bumpers. A safety frame will be installed inside for body rigidity.
It is known that the Enyaq RS Race will have only two seats, as in racing cars, and individual parts will be lightened or replaced with new ones made of composite materials. Probably, several parts of the interior will disappear altogether to make the car lighter.
The electric car will receive a new transmission, but the engines and battery will remain standard from the serial Enyaq RS Coupe.
Michal Grabanek, head of Skoda MotorSport, said: “Skoda MotorSport has developed its first fully electric car in 2021. We have learned a lot, but I think now is the time to use our experience.”
He also added: “We are creating a unique Enyaq RS Race concept that will demonstrate how we can transfer motorsport DNA to production cars while working towards the future.”
