Electric pickup Tesla Cybertruck will soon receive a 20% increase in charging speed thanks to a wireless software update.
It was previously reported that the Cybertruck's charging performance can “jump” up to 255 kW, but quickly decreases, and mostly rarely rises above 150 kW.
Drew Baglino, Tesla's head of energy and powertrain development, said the automaker will increase stability and charging speed for the electric vehicle in its upcoming update.
It is noted that after installing the received “over the air” update, the full-size electric pickup will be able to receive a charge in 15 minutes, which will be enough for 248 km. Currently, in the same period of time, an electric pickup from Tesla can only get enough energy for 205 km in the same measurement cycle.
According to Baglino, the announced update will be available to car owners later this quarter, i.e. no later than the end of June 2024.
