In China, the new JiYue 07 electric sedan will be officially unveiled in the coming months. The story of JiYue began in January 2021, when Baidu's parent company announced that it was moving from software development to physical production of electric vehicles by joining forces with Geely.
The new company launched three months later with $300 million in seed capital, and in January 2022 received an additional $400 million in funding led by Baidu.
According to Chinese media reports, the JiYue 07 will be officially launched in China in September and has already been displayed in several showrooms across the country. The novelty will be manufactured at the Geely plant in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.
