Volkswagen Group Achieves Solid Delivery Performance in Challenging Market Environment
In a market environment that remains challenging, the Volkswagen Group achieved a solid delivery performance in the first quarter. According to Hildegard Wortmann, Member of the Group’s Extended Executive Committee for Sales, the diversified product portfolio of the Group gives them the necessary flexibility to compensate for fluctuations in demand in certain segments.
Deliveries in Different Regions
In Europe, deliveries were on par with the previous year’s level at 906,700 vehicles, with 74,400 of these vehicles having an all-electric drive. In North America, the Volkswagen Group saw an increase in deliveries by 5 percent to 227,100 vehicles. The Asia-Pacific region recorded an overall increase in deliveries of 5 percent to 764,800 vehicles, with China being the main growth driver.
Strong Growth in All-Electric Models
The all-electric models of the Volkswagen Group saw strong growth in the first quarter of 2024, with the Volkswagen ID.4/ID.5 leading the pack at 34,600 units delivered. Other successful models included the Volkswagen ID.301, Audi Q4 e-tron, and Škoda Enyaq.
Upcoming Models and Expectations for Growth
In 2024, the Volkswagen Group plans to launch more than 30 new models, including many all-Electric vehicles such as the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer and the ID. Buzz with long wheelbase, the CUPRA Tavascan, Audi Q6 e-tron, and the Porsche Macan Electric. The Group is confident that with the higher order intake for all-electric models in Europe, they will continue to grow in the all-electric segment both in their home region and worldwide over the year as a whole.
