Musk Again Claims Tesla Will ‘Soon’ Have Banish, Actual Smart Summon
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has a history of embracing memes, trolling, and humorous acronyms for product names. This approach is what led to the creation of Tesla’s Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y lineup, commonly referred to as ‘S3XY’.
Recently, Musk has been focusing more on his social media platform X, where he shares politically charged memes rather than promoting Tesla products. However, there seems to be a shift back to Tesla-related humor with the announcement of upcoming updates to Tesla Vision.
Autopark and Smart Summon features will be making a return to Tesla vehicles soon, after being removed when the automaker discontinued ultrasonic sensors two years ago. Despite promises of their return, these features have not lived up to expectations in the past.
Early demonstrations of the new Autopark system suggest it is a bit slow but effective for parallel parking. Musk has hinted at renaming Autopark to “Banish” and promoting “Actual Smart Summon” as the new name for the feature.
Some may view Musk’s promises as a running joke, as previous timelines for features like “Actual Smart Summon” have not been met. Calling the new feature “Actual” may imply that the previous version was not as intelligent as claimed.
As we wait for the release of these features, the question remains: Is this all part of Elon Musk’s humor, or will “Actual” Smart Summon and Banish truly be the future of Tesla technology? Share your thoughts below.
