Audi is preparing for the release of a new electric crossover RS Q6 e-tron, which will be available in 2025. The novelty promises impressive characteristics without copying the Porsche solution. The SQ6 e-tron, introduced earlier this year, is already impressive with its 510 hp, but the RS Q6 e-tron will go even further.
According to an Audi insider, published by Autocar, the RS Q6 e-tron will be significantly different from the SQ6 and will be a serious electric SUV. The car is expected to get an electric powertrain from the Macan Turbo, which will allow it to reach more than 620 hp. and torque up to 1130 Nm. The Porsche takes 3.1 seconds to hit 100 km/h, and while the RS Q6 e-tron may be a bit slower, it will be very close in terms of performance.
However, performance won't be the only difference between Audi and Porsche. Although the RS Q6 e-tron is positioned as a sports model, it will be focused on more comfort compared to its brother from Porsche. Audi plans to add unique design and interior elements, making it more comfortable and attractive for everyday use.
The RS Q6 e-tron is expected to use the same 100kWh battery as the Macan EV, as well as the Q6 and SQ6 e-tron models. Thanks to the Premium Platform Electric 800V architecture, the car will be able to charge at a speed of up to 270 kW, which will allow charging the battery from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes under ideal conditions.
The RS Q6 e-tron will be available in SUV and Sportback body styles, which will increase its appeal to different customers. Inside, you can expect high-quality materials such as leather and Alcantara, as well as sports seats. An official launch date has not yet been announced, but the RS Q6 e-tron is expected to debut in early 2025 with a price tag in the $90,000-$100,000 range.
