China's BYD has revealed official images of the 2025 Seal electric sedan. The model received a stylish design and a lidar-based ADAS system, and the model will arrive at dealers on August 8.
The new BYD Seal is distinguished by the presence of laser LiDAR on the roof from the company RoboSense. It enables numerous driver assistance systems (ADAS). The front part of the electric sedan received thin headlights with original daytime running lights, a sloping hood and a trapezoidal air intake. The new Seal has conventional side mirrors and retractable door handles. At the back, a full-width LED taillight panel has been extended, and the “Build Your Dreams” inscription on the trunk lid has been replaced by a laconic red BYD emblem that glows in the dark. A new shade of light purple color appeared on the panel.
The dimensions of the “new” BYD Seal have remained unchanged and are 4800/1875/1460 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2920 mm. The new Seal is built on the e-Platform 3.0 architecture with an on-board 800V system that provides fast and efficient charging at fixed DC stations.
The entry-level Seal sedan is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle with a capacity of 170 kW/231 hp. A more powerful version uses a 230 kW/313 hp electric motor. And the top configuration of BYD Seal offers two electric motors with a total power of 390 kW/530 hp. and four-wheel drive. Depending on the configuration, the car is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 61 kW or 81 kW. The range is from 510 to 650 km, depending on the version.
