On crossover Citroen C5 Aircross a change of generations awaits. The second generation of the model will appear in 2025 and will undergo significant changes. He revealed the first details of it to the British publication Autocar CEO of Citroen, Thierry Koskas.
He confirmed that the new Citroen C5 Aircross will get an electric version, following its sister company Stellantis Peugeot 3008 and Opel Grandland.
Like these crossovers, the new Citroen C5 Aircross will be built on the modern STLA Medium platform. It is expected to get the same powerplants as Peugeot and Opel.
We remind you that Peugeot e-3008 and Opel Grandland electric cars are available in 210, 230 and 320 hp versions, and the range reaches 700 km.
In addition, the brothers will share hybrid installations. So, in the Citroen C5 Aircross line, a variant with a 1.2-liter turbo engine and a “soft” 48-volt unit is expected, as well as a 1.6-liter 195-horsepower plug-in hybrid capable of covering more than 80 km on electric traction.
The car will be designed in a new corporate style, which debuted on the Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross. It is worth noting that the Citroen C5 Aircross crossover will become the flagship of the brand, because the larger C5 X model will soon be discontinued.
