In recent days, rumors have arrived from China that the seven-seater version of the Tesla Model Y will appear in Europe in October.
If you remember, three years ago there were news about Tesla's plans to release the Model Y with three rows of seats, but such versions never reached the European market. However, new information indicates that production of the seven-seater Model Y has already started at the Gigafactory in Shanghai.
According to the data of the Chinese edition of the National Business DailyTesla has already received the necessary certificates to sell this version in Europe and China. The first cars are expected to arrive in October. However, Tesla itself has not yet confirmed this information.
The seven-seater Model Y could be a great option for families, especially with Tesla's successful sales in the first half of the year. Despite adding 45kg to the car's weight, the extra seats are likely to only be comfortable for children or short people due to limited space and the sloping rear window.
It remains unclear whether the seven-seat version will be part of the Model Y update known as “Project Juniper,” which is also expected in the near future. According to rumors, this restyling will bring new design solutions and an increased range, but whether Tesla will confirm the appearance of a seven-seater version along with the update is still in question.
