Fisker reached a preliminary agreement with the New York firm American Lease for the sale of 3,231 Ocean electric vehicles. The total value of the cars is $46.3 million. American Lease is known to pay between $2,500 and $16,500 per copy, depending on the condition of the car.
As reported by Autoevolution, American Lease initially planned to buy back 2,100 Fisker electric vehicles, but later increased the order to 3,321 units. Although the two sides reached an agreement, due to Fisker's bankruptcy, the deal must be sealed in court.
The hearing is scheduled for July 9. According to the lawsuit, Fisker has no obligation to offer repairs or maintenance on vehicles sold to American Lease. It is reported that the average cost of sold crossovers is $14,330 per vehicle.
Some damaged specimens were sold for $2,500. Meanwhile, the court report said the value of each car in “reasonably good working order” was $16,500.
That's still significantly less than the Ocean's $40,000 to $70,000 starting price and $25,000 price tag earlier this year, which was set during a major fleet sale before Fisker filed for bankruptcy.
