Only six weeks after the update in the US, the updated Ford E-Transit was shown in Europe. The commercial electric vehicle received a new traction battery with a useful capacity of 89 kWh. It increases the range of Europe's best-selling large electric van to 402 km, which is 28% more than the standard model.
Ford says it has developed a model with increased range for fleets operating in rural areas, in colder climates and near highway routes.
With the new E-Transit, buyers can enjoy not only improved range, but also faster charging. The model's AC charging capacity has been increased from 11 kW to 22 kW, allowing the van to be fully charged in less than six hours. The van's DC fast charging capabilities have also been increased from 115kW to 180kW. Ford has also installed a heat pump as standard on the extended-range model, which promises more efficient interior heating in cold conditions.
In total, European Ford buyers have 19 E-Transit variants to choose from, including vans and cab chassis variants. You can also install the Ford Pro Power Onboard system on the car, which allows you to use 2.3 kW of electricity from the battery for power tools and other equipment.
