The Geely Radar brand went beyond China and was named Riddara. Initially, the Riddara RD6 pickup truck will receive a right-hand drive version for Thailand.
Pickups are popular in Thailand, with diesel pickups controlling over 40% of the Thai car market. Geely hopes that Riddara will be able to convince some buyers to switch to electric vehicles.
The Riddara RD6 is built on the Multiplex Attached Platform (MAP), which is a derivative of Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) used in the Zeekr range and the new Smart and Lotus electric cars.
Battery capacities are 63, 73 or 86 kWh, although the platform itself can reportedly support up to 140 kWh. The 2WD versions received a 200 kW electric motor on the rear axle, while the 4WD versions use an additional 115 kW motor on the front axle. The range varies from 415 to 560 km.
The towing capacity is 3000 kg, and the payload is 865 kg. With the installation with two engines, the acceleration is 4.5 s. The depth of the ford to be crossed is 815 mm. The function of providing different consumers can provide a maximum power of 21 kW.
Chinese prices for the Riddara RD6 range from $20,870 to $30,500. After Thailand, the car will appear in other markets of Southeast Asia and Australia.
