Premium brand Genesis plans to launch the Magma EV hot hatch at the end of next year. The novelty is based on the GV60 model and uses components of the electric Ioniq 5 N.
In recent years, the Hyundai concern has been making rapid progress. The brands included in its composition are expanding the range of products, and each novelty creates a small sensation on the market. This statement is also true for the Genesis premium unit, which plans to introduce a new sports sub-brand, Magma, next year.
The first creation will be the “charged” hatchback GV60 Magma, created on the basis of the GV60 model and using components of the electric Ioniq 5 N. The company announced plans to bring the model to the market at the end of next year at the “Festival of Speed” in Goodwood.
The static presentation of the Magma brand took place in March of this year, and the company brought a whole collection of “charged” cars from Magma to the British Goodwood – GV60 Magma Concept, G80 EV Magma Concept, GV80 Coupe Concept, as well as a unique “taxi” G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife.
So far, Genesis has not announced the technical details of the upcoming new product, but it can be assumed that it will share the unit base with the sports hatchback Ioniq 5 N. According to company representatives, the car has received an upgraded battery and electric motor, as well as its own suspension settings that allow for improved handling . From the serial version of the GV60, the car differs in an aerodynamic body kit, which includes a rear spoiler and a diffuser, wheel arch extenders, brakes of increased diameter, as well as a set of original light-alloy wheels.
We will remind that the arsenal of the “relative” Ioniq 5 N includes a pair of electric motors with a total capacity of 650 hp. and an all-wheel drive system. It is likely that in accordance with the higher status, the GV60 Magma will receive a power unit of increased power.
