The new version of the 2025 Porsche Taycan received a significant increase in range on a single charge, now reaching 511 kilometers, which is 122 kilometers more than before.
In addition, the car charges faster. New EPA range estimates for of the Taycan line have been published on Porsche's website, although the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has yet to confirm these figures.
Below are new range figures and improvements for various Taycan models:
- Taycan (89 kWh) 19 inches: 441 km (+106 km)
- Taycan (105 kWh) 19 inches: 511 km (+122 km)
- Taycan 4S (89 kWh) 19 inches: 406 km (+74 km)
- Taycan 4S (105 kWh) 19 inches: 475 km (+97 km)
- Taycan Turbo 20 inches: 470 km (+87 km)
- Taycan Turbo S 21 inch: 428 km (+71 km)
- Taycan 4 Cross Turismo 19 inches: 446 km (+68 km)
- Taycan 4S Cross Turismo 19 inches: 438 km (+68 km)
- Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo 20 inches: 426 km (+51 km)
- Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo 21 inch: 420 km (+63 km)
The key factor in increasing the range was a larger battery with improved thermal regulation. The standard battery has increased to 89 kWh from the previous 70 kWh, and the optional Performance Plus is now 105 kWh instead of the previous 93 kWh. Base models of the Taycan are rear-wheel drive, while the rest of the models are all-wheel drive. 4S models come with a standard 89 kWh battery, but can be equipped with an optional 105 kWh battery. All trim levels above the 4S come with larger batteries as standard.
The increased range is also due to a more efficient rear engine, improved wheel aerodynamics, low rolling resistance tires and a more efficient heat pump. According to Porsche, brake regeneration at high speeds has increased by 30%. In addition, the maximum charging power has increased from 270 kW to 320 kW, which allows you to maintain a high charging speed for a longer time in a wider temperature range.
