The German automaker officially presented the updated electric sedan Mercedes-Benz EQS. From now on, the car is standardly equipped with a sporty AMG Line front bumper, and the car also received an updated radiator grille with chrome slats.
Chrome accents were also added to the interior. Engineers have also developed improved rear seats that feature an additional 5mm of foam. In addition to the additional padding, the rear row now has a backrest that can now be adjusted from 27 to 36 degrees at the push of a button. In addition, the comfort cushions now have contrasting stitching and Nappa leather edging.
Customers looking for maximum rear-seat comfort will want to opt for the Pinnacle trim and its optional Executive Interior package. It adds a front passenger seat that can be tilted forward to increase second-row legroom. The package also includes rear seats with pneumatic adjustment, as well as lighting on the backs of the front seats.
In terms of performance, the EQS gets a new battery with a useful capacity of 118 kWh instead of 108.4 kWh. In addition, the sedan is equipped with new software that provides greater energy recovery.
Thanks to these changes, the updated Mercedes-Benz has an increased range. The automaker did not release the data, but said that the range increases by 82 km. In addition, European models equipped with all-wheel drive have an increased towing capacity of up to 1,700 kg instead of 750 km previously.
As for electronic assistants, the updated electric car also received a new automatic lane change function.
