The automaker announced to the world community that it will reveal the new product on April 15. Maserati has kept the details of the upcoming electric model under wraps, but has dropped some interesting hints.
In its message, Maserati used the interesting hashtag #MADEINMODENA. The only model currently assembled in Modena is the MC20. However, it is highly likely that we will not see an electric version of the sports car this year.
The fact is that Maserati recently issued a press release in which it was announced that the MC20 Folgore will be released in 2025, followed by the debut of the next generation Quattroporte. The answer to the question of which model Maserati is preparing to present was hidden at the end of the message.
As noted, “The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is due to be unveiled this year, shortly after the debut of the petrol version.” However, the GranCabrio is assembled in Turin, so the hashtag most likely referred to the Maserati company in general.
The GranCabrio Folgore is rumored to get a three-motor electric powertrain with a 92.5kWh battery with an 800V architecture. A similar powertrain is used by the MC20 Folgore and the related Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale.
The power of electric motors in standard mode is 751 hp. and 818 in high performance mode, the same power can be obtained by a new product from Maserati. In this case, the GranCabrio Folgore will be able to reach 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.
However, Maserati has not provided any specific data yet. We will be able to learn more details about the new electric model already on April 15.
