The first mass-produced electric car with a 900-volt on-board system rolled off the assembly line. The NIO ET9 electric car received an innovative platform. It is noted that the new architecture from the Chinese manufacturer of electric cars allows the car to get enough energy for 255 km of mileage in just five minutes.
ET9 was first introduced in December. It is known that NIO equipped the luxury electric car with the latest technologies.
The company claims that the new architecture makes the front and rear electric motors smaller and 30% lighter. At the same time, smaller units provide more interior space.
The NIO ET9 will be the first electric vehicle to use a 925-volt W-Pin synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets. Weighing just 79 kg, the powerplant delivers a power density of 4.3 kW/kg, which NIO says is the highest among modern production electric motors. The front engine has a specific power of 2.6 kW/kg.
The new electric car from NIO is also equipped with a 1200 V silicon carbide power module with a specific power of 1315 kW/l. It can withstand over 300,000 power cycles.
The battery also received a liquid cooling system, which increases the peak continuous power of the electric vehicle's power plant by 20%.
