The restyled Ioniq 6 is expected to differ from the current electric car with a new design style and probably a larger battery and, as a result, a longer range.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 debuted in August 2022 as the brand's second electric vehicle based on the E-GMP architecture. As reported by Electrekthe automaker is expected to unveil an updated electric vehicle following the facelifted Ioniq 5 that was unveiled in Korea in March.
The updated Ioniq 5 received a larger battery with a capacity of 84 kWh, instead of 77.4 kWh, which provides up to 485 km of range. Recently, Korean spies HealerTV spotted test prototypes of the new Ioniq 6. Their video compares the restyled electric car with the old model.
The most noticeable change is the new design of the front end. The facelifted model will get new headlights similar to those found on the Sonata. In addition, it is likely that Hyundai will provide the car with a larger capacity battery.
The Ioniq 6 was Hyundai's first electric car with a range of more than 600 kilometers, but it is not yet known whether the updated model will be able to reach the 700 km predicted range.
Hyundai is rumored to launch the facelifted Ioniq 6 in May next year, followed by the sporty N model in September.
