Porsche has officially announced that a new version of the Macan EV electric car will be presented at the Chengdu Motor Show on August 30, and the prices for this model have also been announced. It is expected that Porsche will present a version with an increased range and a single electric motor, which will reduce the price of the car. At the same time, the appearance of other versions is not excluded.
We will remind that the Porsche Macan EV was first presented at the Beijing Motor Show in April this year, where the prices for the Chinese market were announced. The two available versions had price tags of 728,000 and 968,000 yuan. However, due to the need to obtain Chinese 3C certification, the cars will reach Chinese buyers only in the fourth quarter of this year.
A more affordable version of the Macan EV is likely to be presented at the upcoming Chengdu Auto Show. Current versions of the Macan EV use a new Permanent Magnet Synchronous Electric Motor (PSM). The Macan 4 version produces 300 kW and 650 Nm, while the Macan Turbo version produces 470 kW and 1130 Nm. In the new version with one electric motor, the power will probably be lower.
After the update, the Porsche Macan became fully electric. The exterior design of the model has retained the signature features of previous versions with a diesel engine, including a distinctive style. The main difference in the front part is the use of separate headlights. The dimensions of the car are 4784/1938/1622 mm, and the wheelbase is 2893 mm. Due to the absence of a diesel engine, the car received a front trunk with a volume of 84 liters, and the volume of the rear trunk of the Macan 4 is from 540 to 1348 liters.
Thanks to the 800 V electric architecture, the Porsche Macan EV can be charged with a power of up to 270 kW. If the charging station only supports 400V technology, the Macan EV automatically activates the “combined charging” function to speed up the process.
