The Range Rover electric crossover has not yet been officially unveiled, but the company has already received more than 42,000 pre-orders. During the investor's day in June, the company reported that the number of reservations had more than doubled, reaching the mark of more than 38,000 cars.
Two months later, it became known that more than 42,000 cars had already been booked, and none of the potential owners had yet seen a production-ready car.
JLR Chief Operating Officer Lennard Hunick assuredthat the first electric Range Rover will stay true to its roots.
“An electric Range Rover should be a Range Rover first and foremost”– explained Hunik.
JLR's chief operating officer added that the new electric car will have features that guarantee its driver the “driving experience that makes the Range Rover what it is.”
“Even if you have your eyes closed, it doesn't matter if it's a V8 or an electric car or an inline six.” It must be a real Range Rover”– added the top manager.
Range Rover also claims that its powertrain allows the brand to “exceed established performance on low-grip surfaces with all-terrain, all-weather performance.”
It is known that the new electric Range Rover will be able to overcome a ford with a depth of up to 850 mm, which is much more than that of all existing serial electric SUVs and pickups.
